How to make a Classic Nectarine Cake

Ingredients
- Orange Syrup
- 20g sugar
- 20g butter
- 20g orange juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 3-4 fresh nectarines
- 150g soft butter
- 3-4 eggs
- 1 tbls orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 150g sugar
- 150g flour
- 100g grounded almonds
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Optional:
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp tumeric powder
- vanilla ice cream or cream
Directions
- Step 1 Heat 20g butter, 20g sugar and orange juice to a syrup. Then add the lemon zest. Then spread the syrup on your cake tin that you have previously lined with baking paper.
- Step 2 Now cut 3-4 nectarines into wedges and then spread them on the cake base along the edge of the cake. The wedges can be thick.
- Step 3 You can put the remaining ingredients all at once in a bowl and stir well. Then you can fill the dough on the nectarines, making sure that the surface is nice and smooth.
- Step 4 Place the cake in the oven at 180 degrees for 60 minutes. After 30 minutes, please take out the cake and cover it with foil. Put in the oven for another 30 minutes and do the chopstick test.
- Step 5 Let the cake cool completely, remove it from the cake pan. if your cake has formed a mound at the top, cut off the area with a knife, we want a smooth area.
- Step 6 With the help of a plate you can now turn the cake over, now remove the bottom of the cake tin and the baking paper. Now you can see how your cake turned out!
- Step 7 Serve each slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
