Homemade Chocolate Donuts
Ingredients
- 300g flour
- 130g milk
- one egg
- 5 g dry yeast
- 50 g soft butter
- 30 g sugar
- 8 g salt
- a packet of vanilla sugar
- Plenty of oil (sunflower oil, or rapeseed oil) about 1 l
- 500-600g dark chocolate
Directions
- Step 1 Add dry ingredients into a bowl and mix until you get a fluffy dough. It´s recommended to knead the dough a little longer.
- Step 2 Let the dough rest for around 1 hour. Cover the dough with a warm cloth, to support the growing process.
- Step 3 Roll out the dough with 1cm of thickness.
- Step 4 Now cut out circles with a cookie cutter or glass. After that use a smaller glass or second cutter form, to cut out the donut holes.
- Step 5 Pour oil into a saucepan and heat up to 160°. Fry the donuts for about 1 minute per side.
- Step 6 Let them cool on a baking tray for about 45 minutes.
- Step 7 While the donuts are cooling, we prepare the chocolate layer. Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl completely. Now dip the donuts in the bowl, or drip the melted chocolate over them for a glazed layer.
- Step 8 Feel free to add additional toppings on the donuts.
- Step 9 Let them cool off completely so the chocolate layer hardens. Eat the donuts in 24 hours, the longer you wait, the harder they´ll become.
Such a good recipe, I made donuts for the first time, you have to knead the dough really well at the beginning, thank god I have a machine for that. Very successful.
