How to make the best Roasted almonds with only 3 ingredients everyone has at home
As soon as December and the Advent season have begun, it’s time for mulled wine and Christmas cookies. Baked almonds are also high on the list. Unfortunately, the roasted almonds at the Christmas markets are more sugar than almonds and when I read how quick and easy they can be made at home, I never buy any again and they are 100 times tastier than the store-bought ones. Plus, your home smells heavenly while they’re being prepared, and they’re perfect as a little gift for loved ones. So let’s get started 😉
First
Put all the almonds in the large saucepan and turn the heat up to the highest setting. Add the water and all the white sugar. Mix and bring to the boil.
Second
Add the cinnamon and continue to mix, slowly allowing the almonds to caramelise. Add half of the vanilla sugar and continue to stir.
Slowly it should be less and less liquid and more and more to the thick mixture.
Third
Now add the remaining vanilla sugar and continue mixing. Once everything has solidified, transfer everything to a baking tray lined with baking paper and leave to cool until the almonds can be loosened.
